Sleeping With Ghosts

My project/theme for 2009 is based around people's scars, both physical and emotional.

The marks that people have on their bodies are a constant reminder of their past and things they have lived through. Every scar has a memory, and even memories can leave a scar.

Some of the images may seem a little controversial or extreme, but they represent what some people have to live with now, or have experienced at some point.

Please note: even though some people featured in this series may have inflicted the wounds themselves, that is only their business and I will consider derogatory or insulting comments to be in very poor taste. On principle I refuse to include in this project anyone who still self-harms, or self-harmed for no reason/attention.

I hope you will enjoy what the participants bravely allow me to share with you.
